I was born and raised in the City of Los Angeles. I grew up in the Atwater Village neighborhood and attended John Marshall High School, which is located in the Los Feliz neighborhood and walking distance from Griffith Park. I graduated from UCLA in 2009 with a BA in Sociology and minors in Education and Chicana and Chicano Studies. I later received my Single Subject Secondary Mathematics Credential at UCLA. I finished my Master's in Education in December of 2012 and walked in June of 2013. I've been with Young Oak Kim Academy since September of 2012. Before this, I was at the School for Visual Arts and Humanities (SVAH) in the RFK Community Schools complex and worked at Roybal Learning Center the years before that. I'm excited for the upcoming year at YOKA and look forward to teaching you math and its importance in this world! I am extremely passionate about education and about empowering our youth. My hobbies include: spending quality time with my family and friends, socializing, photography and the arts, watching anime, going to concerts/shows, running and hiking.
